O humanity! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).
[Suratul Hujarat, Ayat 13]
Dear Brothers and Sisters
The Western National Dawah Office (WNDO) was initially established to provide religious programs and religious education to western expatriates in Jeddah. The office has focused on three primary objectives:
-
To invite non-Muslims western expatriates to Islam through an active Dawah program.
-
To provide religious education in basic tenets of Islam for new Muslims.
-
To facilitate the spiritual growth and development through Islamic educational courses, lectures and social activities for members of the western expatriate populations.
Since its inception, the WNDO has normally sponsored religious courses and activities for adult Muslim males and occasionally family orientated activities. However, due to the increased demand for family activities along with the ever increasing presence of families and dependents among the western expatriate population, the WNDO office has decided to expand its scope to include social programs and social activities uniquely tailored to address and meet some of the concerns of Muslim families and dependents from western countries currently residing in Jeddah.
For purpose of clarification, the WNDO currently defines Western Muslim Expatriates as Muslim citizens from Europe, the Americas, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa as well as their spouses and children who have been blessed to reside in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for employment, education or as family members.
The WNDO recognizes the importance of the family and particularly the many concerns and issues facing western families living in the Kingdom. The WNDO is committed to providing wholesome Islamic functions that Western Muslim Expatriates their families can participate in and enjoy.
Two key components of the program are feedback and volunteering. New programs may be developed based on feedback from the greater community. However, we will need volunteers from among brothers and sisters to help with implementing programs and ensuring the maximum potential for success and benefit for all participants.
This is an invitation to all western Muslim expatriates to join the community. We encourage you to participate in all future activities; your ideas and suggestion are welcome; volunteering is both encouraged and solicited. Insha ALLAH, we look forward to your active involvement and full participation all future activities.
